Pursuant to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) No.3 “attain the highest possible level of health and well-being for at all ages through a preventive and promotive health care orientation in all development policies, and universal access to good quality healthcare services without anyone having to face financial hardship as a consequence.” NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) works to reach various segments of the public who are unable to access quality health care services and accommodates such healthcare camps to meet their needs. 

Specifically in the areas of women and children, maternity care, postnatal care and infant care, immunization programs, food supplies and health awareness camps are programmed to empower women and children.

These have been a tremendous advantage that have been well received by participants and they are well connected responding to the programs. 

It is also found that there is widely vitamin deficiency prevailing and this mainly consists of calcium, B complex, zinc, low birth weight, protein energy malnutrition, neutral anemia and many more among men, women and children.  Further immunization programs are also required. NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) actively participates in conducting medicare supplies.  Current birth rate at 18.6 for every thousand people, there is a need to emphasize healthcare.

The year 2020 Pandemic has disrupted the world and has even halted many health programs.  There’s a lot of scope for conducting health programs in India and that can be primarily in rural India where there’s shortage of medical professionals, clinics and hospitals. At a steady pace, NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) plans to reach and help out various communities in facilitating health care programs that include immunization, health checkups, nutrition supplies, providing health education workshops, hygiene awareness programs and much more in the near future as well for the benefit of various societies. 

NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) plans to lay bigger foundations in its trust to enable its participants to widely benefit from the organization. These require not only a greater effort, but also a strategic planning and administration at every level to be able to deliver services with value and high yield of responsiveness.  To enable Indian communities to access the services that were not so far made available to them or were inaccessible until now, NAVODAYA Yuva Kendram (NYK) would like to make good efforts in sending out its support and service.
